Rotterdam is the second largest city in western Netherlands, situated on both sides of the Nieuwe Maas River, near the North Sea. The city is a cultural and educational centre of the Netherlands. With about 9 euro for a 75 min boat trip through the number one harbour in the world, you can have an overview of the city and may learn about the engineering that protects the Netherlands against the water.

Visiting the famous Royal Zoo of Rotterdam is also planned in the trip. It is one of the oldest zoos in the Netherlands, founded 150 years ago. The new western part, called Oceanium with its main attraction an aquarium was opened in 2001 making the zoo almost twice as large. The zoo has also a botanical garden and manages the Dutch National Bromelia Collection. Once you come you would never forget.
